Stacking was designed by Rockwell Group using the idea of modular, individually handblown glass cylinders in distinct combinations of colors and sizes. These glass modules are made with a traditional Venetian handblown glass technique called “incamiciato” (Italian for “jacketed” or “layered”), where a Maestro glass blower uses multiple layers of glass, each of different transparencies and properties. When combined, these modules build and overlap colors and opacities, creating sophisticated atmospheric lighting. A gold or chrome base is the light source of the lamp and gives balance to the decorative column. The Stacking Collection is comprised of three sets of floor lamps (Stacking B, Stacking C and Stacking D) in different heights (115, 163 and 148 cm).
