Hikinu

Inspired by the art of Hikinuki in Kabuki theatre — the technique that allows for quick costume changes on stage — Hikinu was created to surprise. It does not change shape, but perception: thanks to the combination of materials and the play of reflections, the surface seems to transform throughout the day, interacting with the light and the environment that surrounds it. Introducing greenery thus becomes a theatrical gesture. The plant is not simply placed, but enters the scene, enveloped in a weave that amplifies its presence and transforms it into an architectural element. The star of the project is the exclusive SPLOT® weaving technique: a technique carried out manually in Italy using recycled aluminium and giving it new life. A unique process that combines craftsmanship and modernity in an original and sophisticated aesthetic language, giving the surface an almost textile-like charm, lively and textured. The ‘Memory’ design in SPLOT® is not just a decorative motif, but a story: a wider, more solid band, flanked by three slimmer bands, translates into material the value of family ties and know-how that have always defined Flou’s identity.
